This is an application for certification brought pursuant to the construction industry provisions of the Labour Relations Act, 1995, S.O. 1995 ch. 1 (the “Act”). There appear to be no issues outstanding other than the status of the applicant.
The applicant asserts that it is a trade union as defined both in subsection 1(1) and section 126. The latter determination is not one which can be made on the basis of materials filed. The Registrar is directed to set this matter down for one day of hearing to deal with the issue of the status of the applicant.
The Officer’s meeting scheduled for Wednesday, July 18, 2001 is hereby cancelled.
