DECISION OF THE BOARD; July 6, 2001
When the hearing in this matter resumed on June 21, 2001, the parties with the assistance of the Board members and a Labour Relations Officer engaged in settlement discussions in an attempt to resolve this matter and obviate the need to continue the hearing of this grievance. Despite the efforts of the parties and their counsel to reach an acceptable settlement, a resolution was not achieved and the matter will therefore continue to conclusion before this panel of the Board. When the parties realized that no settlement was possible after several hours of discussions, they agreed to adjourn the hearing to the next available mutually agreeable date.
The hearing that had been scheduled in this matter for July 31, 2001 is hereby cancelled. With the agreement of the parties, the Board fixes October 30, 2001 for the continuation of the hearing of this matter before this panel of the Board.
When the hearing resumes, counsel for the applicant will begin his cross-examination of Luis Tenaglia, the first witness called by the responding party.
