DECISION OF THE BOARD; July 25, 2001
Decision
[1]. Having regard to paragraph 49 and 50 of the Board’s decision in this matter dated April 3, 2001, to the agreement of the affected parties dated July 13, 2001 and pursuant to section 69(8) of the Act, the Board directs that a representation vote be taken of the individuals in the following voting constituency:
all Paramedics employed by Almonte General Hospital in the County of Lanark, save and except supervisors and persons above the rank of supervisor.
[2]. The vote will be held on August 9, 2001. Other vote arrangements will be as determined by the Registrar and set out on the attached “Notice of Vote and of Hearing”.
[3]. All individuals who had an employment relationship with the responding party in the voting constituency on July 12, 2001, are eligible to vote. Employees having an employment relationship on July 12, 2001, include employees who were not at work on that date, so long as there is a reasonable expectation of their return to employment.
[4]. Voters will be asked whether or not they wish to be represented by the applicant or by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union.
[5]. The responding party, Almonte General Hospital, is directed to post copies of this decision and of the “Notice of Vote” where they are most likely to come to the attention of all employees who may be affected. These notices must remain posted for 30 days following the taking of the representation vote.
[6]. Any party or person who wishes to make representations to the Board about any issue relating to the conduct of the vote must file a detailed statement of representations and the material facts upon which they rely with the Board, and deliver it to all other parties, so that it is received within five (5) days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Board holidays) of the date on which the vote is taken.
