1This is a request for the suspension of several orders made by an Occupational Health and Safety Officer. Before the Board can deal with this request, it needs to know one fact. The Officer’s narrative refers to a “draft” of “policies and procedures” which has an effective date of September 1, 2001. Although the narrative itself is unhelpful with respect to what this document is, I infer from the application by the appellant that this is a draft regulation under the Safe Schools Act. If this is so, this Board needs to know whether they have been proclaimed or promulgated as at this date. The appellant is directed to advise the Board of what the current status is with respect to this matter forthwith. It would be convenient for this panel of the Board if the answer were available on September 7, 2001.
2The Board is also in possession of a letter from Ms. Tracie Edward requesting an extension of the time for filing submissions. No satisfactory reasons are given and no extension will be granted, although if submissions are received before the information sought above is received by the Board, they will be considered.
