Derek William Woodcock v. Norampac Inc and Ministry of Labour
File No.: 2057-00-ES
Employment Practices Branch File No.: 30014460
Before: Bram Herlich, Vice-Chair.
Appearances:
No one appeared on behalf of the applicant;
Toni Lionetti, Stephen Bull and Fiona Sterling appeared on behalf of Norampac Inc;
Jeremy Warning appeared on behalf of the Ministry of Labour.
Decision of the Board; June 29, 2001
1This is an application to review the decision of the Employment Standards Officer to not issue an order.
2At the time appointed for hearing, no one was in attendance on behalf of the applicant. Accordingly and as is its usual practice, the Board stood the matter down in the event the applicant had been unavoidably delayed.
3However, when the hearing convened well after a half hour an hour beyond its scheduled start time, the applicant had yet to appear and the hearing proceeded in his absence.
4In view of the applicant’s failure to appear, the parties in attendance moved that the application be dismissed and I indicated that I would issue a decision to that effect.
5The application is hereby dismissed.
