0838-99-G United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 2486, Applicant v. MacIsaac Mining and Tunnelling Company and MacRanald Enterprises Inc., Responding Parties.
BEFORE: Caroline Rowan, Vice-Chair, and Board Members G. Pickell and G. McMenemy.
DECISION OF THE BOARD; April 27, 2001
The responding parties seek an extension of the deadline fixed by the Board in its decision dated April 23, 2001 in these matters for filing their submissions to May 7, 2001. In support of their request, the responding parties state that Mr. Gatien, counsel for MacIsaac Mining and Tunnelling is out of the country, unreachable and not returning until April 30, 2001. While it is not entirely clear to the Board why Mr. Gatien’s involvement is required given that Mr. Bergeron of the same firm acted as counsel in respect of the responding parties’ request for reconsideration, given the relatively brief extension requested, the Board agrees to grant the request for an extension to May 7, 2001. The applicant will have a period of two (2) days thereafter to file any reply submissions.
