DECISION OF THE BOARD; June 26, 2001
1This is an application under section 21, 22 or 23 of the Public Sector Labour Relations Transition Act, 1997 (the "Act").
2Previous decisions have been issued by the Board in this matter on May 7, 2001 and June 8, 2001.
3A run‑off representation vote has been held in the following bargaining unit:
all employees of the Municipality of Greenstone, save and except CAO/Town Manager, Executive Secretary, Economic Development Officer, Director of Public Works, Manager-Finance and Administration, Manager-Protective Services, Manager-Social Services, Recreation Director, Office Managers, Geraldton, Longlas, Beardmore, Nakina Sectors, Clerk/Deputy Treasurer, Day Care Supervisor – Geraldton, Airport Manager Family Resource Centre Supervisor.
4On the taking of the representation vote a majority of votes was cast in favour of CUPE Local 3405.
5Accordingly, under subsection 23(9) of the Act, any bargaining rights possessed by IWA Canada Local 2693 in respect of the employees who are now in the bargaining unit are hereby terminated.
6The Board appoints the CUPE Local 3405 as the bargaining agent in respect of the aforementioned bargaining unit.
7The responding employer is directed to post copies of this decision where it is most likely to come to the attention of all employees who may be affected by it. These copies are to remain posted for 30 days.
8The Registrar will destroy the ballots cast in the representation vote following the expiration of 30 days from the date of this decision unless a statement requesting that the ballots should not be destroyed is received by the Board from one of the parties before the expiration of each 30 day period.
