DECISION OF THE BOARD; June 15, 2001
1. This is an application for certification pursuant to the Labour Relations Act, 1995.
2. Hearing dates were tentatively scheduled according to the Board’s usual procedures for June 18 and 19, 2001.
3. The employer did not file a response, did not appear at the Regional Certification meeting and did not file representations or status disputes after the vote was held. It therefore appears that there is no dispute that needs to be heard. The ballot of one individual was segregated and sealed. The inclusion or exclusion of the individual’s ballot in the count will make no difference to the outcome of the vote. For all of these reasons, the Board has decided to cancel the hearing date tentatively scheduled in this matter.
