Ontario Labour Relations Board
1636-01-M Loeb Canada Inc c/o as Loeb Four Corners, Applicant v. Northern Ontario Joint Council of the Retail Wholesale and Department Store Union, District Council of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, Responding Party.
BEFORE: Bram Herlich, Vice‑Chair, and Board Members J. A. Ronson and R. R. Montague.
DECISION OF THE BOARD; September 28, 2001
1This is a joint application for the Board's consent to the early termination of the collective agreement currently in operation between the parties herein. Notices of this application have been posted on the premises of the employer in conspicuous locations where they would most likely come to the attention of all employees who may be affected by this application. The notice indicates that any person having objection to the Board granting consent to the early termination of the collective agreement, should file such objection with the Board by September 27, 2001. As of the date hereof, no such objection has been filed. Accordingly, on the basis of the material before it, the Board hereby grants its consent to the early termination of the parties' collective agreement.
2The Board notes that the parties have indicated that the current collective agreement will now expire on November 4, 2001 (rather than February 14, 2002) and that a new collective agreement (which has been ratified by bargaining unit employees) will be effective on November 5, 2001.
