Decision
1The Board is in receipt of a letter dated April 18, 2001 from counsel for the employer requesting an adjournment of the hearing of this matter scheduled for tomorrow, April 19, 2001.
2The letter indicates that the Peel Regional Police have requested that no information pertaining to the applicant and the events giving rise to the police investigation be disclosed at this time. A copy of a letter dated April 17, 2001 from the Peel Regional Police to counsel for the employer making such request is attached. The letter from the Peel Regional Police states that the police investigation will be completed by May 20, 2001.
3Counsel’s letter further states that evidence obtained during the employer’s investigation leading to the applicant’s termination of employment is in the possession of the police and as such the employer will be unable to present its case on April 19, 2001.
4Having regard to the request for an adjournment and reasons therefore contained in the letter from counsel for the employer, the hearing of this matter presently scheduled for April 19, 2001 is hereby adjourned.
5This matter is hereby referred to the Registrar to be relisted for hearing on a date after May 20, 2001.
