0126-01-ES Personelle Limousine Ltd., Applicant v. John Zuwala and Ministry of Labour, Responding Parties.
Employment Practices Branch File No. 41 009681
BEFORE: Inge M. Stamp, Vice-Chair.
DECISION OF THE BOARD; August 23, 2001
The applicant requested the hearing in this matter be adjourned until January 2002.
The reason given for the request is set out in the applicant’s letter dated July 31, 2001 which states:
Regarding file #0126-01-ES, I am asking for a postponement of the hearing until early January. From September until the end of the year is the busiest time in our business and it is impossible for us to attend during that period. Thank you for your consideration.
- The responding party, John Zuwala, opposes this request and states:
Regarding file #0126-01-ES, I am against any kind of postponement of this hearing. Mr. Ironi was entitled to appeal. I on the other hand am entitled to have this matter come to a conclusion. On August 15 2001 it will be a year since I was unfairly fired. I believe it is time for this matter to come to a conclusion. Your attention to this matter immediately would be appreciated.
As not all of the parties have consented to this adjournment, this matter will proceed to hearing as scheduled on Thursday, September 13, 2001 at the Board’s Office, 505 University Avenue, 2nd Floor, Toronto, Ontario, commencing at 9:30 a.m.
The applicant may renew its request for an adjournment before the panel hearing this matter.
