Ontario Labour Relations Board
File No.: 2097-00-ES Employment Practices Branch File No.: 40011841
Johan Elmensdorp, Applicant v. Dennis Electric, and Ministry of Labour, Responding Parties.
BEFORE: David A. McKee, Vice Chair.
DECISION OF THE BOARD; November 23, 2000
1The Board received a copy of a document addressed to an Employment Standards Officer. The envelope in which this document arrived is addressed to the Minister of Labour, which is handwritten. The document consists of 34 pages of foolscap-sized paper. It consists of letters to Employment Standards Officers, a former employer, the Prime Minister and the International Court of Justice.
2The Board assumed that the applicant was attempting to file an application for review pursuant to section 68 of the Employment Standards Act (the “Act”). It therefore sent the applicant a letter dated October 25, 2000 indicating that the Board was unable to process the application as it had not been filed on the correct form and did not comply with the Board’s Rules of Procedure. The Board sent the applicant a set of the appropriate forms and the pertinent rules, and directed that the applicant had an additional ten (10) working days in which to file his application properly.
3To date, the Board has received nothing further from the applicant. As the ten (10) days have now passed, it would appear that the applicant does not wish to file an application for review in this matter.
4While the applicant has matters which are clearly of great concern to him, they do not appear to fall into the ambit of the Employment Standards Act.
DISPOSITION
5This matter is hereby terminated.
