DECISION OF THE BOARD; June 8, 2000
- This is an application pursuant to section 68 of the Employment Standards Act as amended by the Economic Development and Workplace Democracy Act, 1998, S.O. 1998, c.8. The workplace parties have entered into Minutes of Settlement dated June 2, 2000. Having regard to the Minutes of Settlement, I hereby order:
(i) that the wages paid to the "Director in trust" in relation to this matter be disbursed as follows:
to be paid to the Employer $ 327.60
to be paid to the Employee $ 0.00
that the administration fee
as set out in the Order to
Pay be retained by the
Government of Ontario
Consolidated Revenue Fund $ 100.00
total amount held by the
Director $ 427.60
(ii) interest earned on the moneys held in trust in this matter is to be paid to the above parties in proportion to the amounts paid out.
(iii) Royal Laser Tech Corporation will pay in trust to the law firm of O’Connor, MacLeod, Hanna on Shirwac Nur’s behalf the sum of $1,000.00. Shirwac Nur on execution to these Minutes of Settlement and the signing of the release be paid the sum of $1,000.00 by the firm of O’Connor, MacLeod, Hanna.
- The Ministry of Labour, a responding party to the application but not a signatory to the Minutes of Settlement, shall have ten working days from the date of this decision to request, if necessary, that this matter be relisted for hearing.
DISPOSITION
- In the absence of a request described in paragraph 2, this matter shall be deemed to be terminated.
