DECISION OF THE BOARD; May 19, 2000
1This is a referral of a grievance to the Board for determination under section 133 of the Labour Relations Act, 1995, S.O. 1995, c. 1 (the "Act"). The Chair of the Board authorized me to sit alone to hear and determine this matter pursuant to section 110(14)(a) of the Act.
2Shortly after convening the hearing, the parties requested time to meet to review documents and attempt to work out an agreed statement of facts. The hearing recessed. I was subsequently advised by counsel for the responding parties that the parties had reached a settlement of this and other matters pending before the Board and that the hearing dates scheduled for the continuation of the hearings of this matter would no longer be needed.
3Under the circumstances, the Board hereby adjourns this matter sine die. Should the parties require the Board to issue an order or declaration arising from their settlement, they may contact the Registrar. Unless either party requests that the Board proceed with the matter within one year from the date of this decision, it will be deemed terminated without any further notice to the parties.
