1423-00-R Canadian Union of Public Employees, Applicant v. Short Hills Villa Retirement Community, Responding Party.
BEFORE: Marilyn Silverman, Vice-Chair.
DECISION OF THE BOARD; August 22, 2000
This is an application for certification with the vote scheduled to be held on August 23, 2000. The vote was ordered in the absence of a timely response by the responding party. By letter dated August 21, 2000 counsel for the responding party requests that the vote be delayed on the basis that although the application was delivered in accordance with the Board rules, it was not dealt with by the responding party for various reasons. In these circumstances and having regard to the Board’s usual procedures in ordering votes, I am not persuaded that the vote should be delayed. The responding party’s request is denied.
