DECISION OF THE BOARD; March 1, 2000
1This is a joint application by the employer and union under section 58(3) of the Labour Relations Act, 1995 (the "Act") for the early termination of the collective agreement currently in operation between the parties.
2The collective agreement commenced May 1, 1999 and has an expiry date of April 1, 2008. The parties want to change the expiry date to August 1, 2001.
3The employer has filed a Confirmation of Posting that this application and the “Notice to Employees” was posted at the work place on January 31, 2000. No affected employee has filed any objection to the early termination within the time stipulated in the Notice to Employees.
4The Board hereby consents to the request of the parties to change the expiry date of the collective agreement to August 1, 2001.
5This decision shall be posted in a conspicuous location at the workplace by the employer forthwith and shall remain posted for 60 consecutive days.
