DECISION OF THE BOARD; August 17, 2000
1This is an employee appeal under section 68 of the Employment Standards Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. E.14, as amended ('the Act') against the refusal by an Employment Standards Officer to issue an Order to Pay in the applicant's favour.
2Prior to the hearing of the matter the parties were able to come to agreement on the terms of the disposition of the application. Without admission of liability, the responding employer (‘the employer’) agreed to pay to the applicant the sum of $2,154 as severance pay by August 31, 2000, in full settlement of the applicant’s claim, and to provide him with a letter of reference, also by that date.
DISPOSITION
3By consent, the Board makes the following declarations and orders and issues the following directions:
The responding party shall pay to the applicant the sum of $2,154 in severance pay by August 31, 2000.
The proceedings are terminated.
