3044-98-ES Steve LePage, Applicant v. Greenock Financial Corp./Leaders in Learning Inc. and Ministry of Labour, Responding Parties.
BEFORE: Russell Goodfellow, Vice-Chair.
DECISION OF THE BOARD; February 9, 2000
- Further to the Board’s decision in this matter dated December 29, 1999, the Board has received the following letter from the applicant:
My recent appeal hearing (File #3044-98-ES (EPB file No. 50 007501) ended with a decision entitling me to payment from the company. I was very pleased that after two and a half years this situation was finally coming to an end.
In reviewing the final decision by Vice Chair, Russell Goodfellow, I did notice that there was no inclusion of an interest payment. I believe that as the ruling was in my favor, there should also have been an inclusion of accrued interest during the time that the company was in arrears of my salary.
I would appreciate it very much if you would look into this situation and advise me if I am entitled to collect interest on the amount owed to me and if so, how much that would be.
- The responding parties are directed to file their response to this request within 14 days of the date of this decision. In the absence of any such response, the Board will order the payment of interest. Any response filed with the Board must contain detailed reasons in support of any position taken.
“Russell Goodfellow”
