BEFORE: Laura Trachuk, Vice-Chair.
DECISION OF THE BOARD; April 27, 2000
Board File No. 3075-99-R is an application for the termination of bargaining rights acquired by voluntary recognition. Board File No. 3076-99-U is an application under section 96 of the Labour Relations Act, 1995 (the “Act”) alleging that the responding parties have committed unfair labour practices.
In the responses to the applications the responding parties allege that the pleadings in both applications do not make out a prima facie case for the relief sought. The responding parties ask that the applications therefore be dismissed. The Board hereby directs the applicant to file submissions in response to this request with the Board on or before May 12, 2000. Copies of the submissions should also be provided to the responding parties. After reviewing the submissions the Board will decide whether to proceed with the hearing of the matter on May 24, June 29 and 30, 2000.
The Board has also received correspondence from the Canadian Film and Television Production Association requesting that it be added as an “interested party” in Board File No. 3076-99-U. The Board also directs the parties to make submissions to the Board on or before May 12, 2000 with respect to this request.
