Ontario Labour Relations Board
3768-99-HS Jeti Heating Inc., Applicant v. Jeti Heating Systems Inc. and Ministry of Labour, Responding Parties.
BEFORE: Stephen Raymond, Vice-Chair.
APPEARANCES: Steve Lazaridis for the applicant; Brian Blumemthal for the Ministry of Labour.
DECISION OF THE BOARD; August 11, 2000
1This is an application pursuant to section 61 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) of the orders of Inspector Mauro contained in Premise Report #945104 dated March 9, 2000 (“the Premise Report”).
2At the hearing, the applicant took the position that it did not dispute any of the orders contained in the Premise Report.
3As a result, the application was dismissed.
4The applicant did state that he hoped that this hearing would lead to the Ministry of Labour ordering that there be dedicated risers in high rise residential buildings for electrical heating systems. I informed the applicant that the purpose of this hearing was to consider the appeal of the Inspector’s orders. Since the applicant did not take the position that any of these orders should be changed, the application must be dismissed. The applicant was invited to contact the Ministry of Labour directly concerning his request for dedicated risers for electrical heating systems.
