DECISION OF THE BOARD
1This is an application under section 68 of the Labour Relations Act, 1995 (the “Act”) for a declaration that the applicant has acquired the rights, privileges and duties of its predecessor CAW Local 1688 of National Automobile, Aerospace Transportation and General Workers’ Union of Canada (CAW-Canada), by reason of a merger, amalgamation or a transfer of jurisdiction. Notice of this application has been sent to the responding party employer and the alleged predecessor trade union. In addition, notices in Form B-15 have been posted on the responding party’s premises in conspicuous places where they would most likely come to the attention of any individual potentially affected by this application. In all cases, the notices specify that anyone desiring to make representations to the Board in opposition to this application should send the Board a statement to that effect, in writing. As of the date hereof, no statement of objection or opposition has been filed. Accordingly, this application is unopposed.
2Having regard to the material before it, and pursuant to section 68 of the Act, the Board hereby declares that the applicant union has acquired the rights, privileges and duties of its predecessor, CAW Local 1688 of National Automobile, Aerospace Transportation and General Workers’ Union of Canada (CAW-Canada), by reason of a merger, amalgamation, or transfer of jurisdiction.
