DECISION OF THE BOARD; November 1, 2000
1By decision of the Board dated October 25, 2000, any employee who wished to participate in the hearing of these matters was directed to deliver to the union and the employer and file with the Board submissions setting out the following:
(1) the fact that he/she wishes to participate in the hearing of these matters; and
(2) his/her position as to whether he/she has a right to participate in all aspects of the hearing or whether he/she is content to confine his/her participation to making final oral or written submissions.
2The Board is in receipt of submissions dated November 1, 2000 from Mr. Abbass on behalf of a group of employees. The submissions indicate that the group of employees wish to participate in the hearing of these matters. It is not clear, however, what position the group of employees are taking with respect to the scope of their participation.
3As indicated in the Board’s October 25, 2000 decision, the hearing with respect to these matters has already started. A number of days of hearing have been held. The group of employees represented by Mr. Abbass are directed to advise the Board and the other parties, no later than 5:00 p.m. today, as to whether it is their position that the hearing should be started over in order that they can participate in all aspects of the hearing or whether they are content to confine their participation to the remainder of the hearing.
