Decision
1The grievance before me filed on behalf of Mr. Poku-Appiah is dated November 15, 2017. It claims entitlement to the Custodial Responsibility Allowance (the “CRA”). At today’s hearing, Union counsel requested that the Employer provide him with employment and medical related documentation for certain employees. Union counsel asserted that this documentation was relevant to the issues in dispute in this matter. Having considered the Union’s request, I am satisfied that the documentation requested by Union counsel is arguably relevant to the issues in dispute and I direct that the material be disclosed to Union counsel forthwith, with the usual conditions applicable. Given the privacy considerations at play, Union counsel may show the documentation to the Grievor, but shall not provide copies to anyone. The documentation provided by the Employer shall be used only for the purposes of this proceeding and not for any other purpose.
Dated at Toronto, Ontario this 16th day of October 2024.
