Decision

1This matter is a grievance filed by OPSEU on behalf of Kathleen Osborne that was scheduled to be heard commencing at 10:00 a.m. over video conferencing on April 12, 2023.

2The Union has made repeated attempts to contact Ms. Osborne by email, regular mail, couriered correspondence, and phone. The Union has sent letters to Ms. Osborne asking her to contact them. The Union sent the link for today’s video conference to Ms. Osborne by email. The Union has not been able to contact Ms. Osborne and she had not responded to any of its letters. Ms. Osborne did not attend today’s hearing.

3Ms. Osborne is hereby ordered to provide to the Union the reasons for her absence at today’s hearing no later than May 5, 2023, failing which this matter will be deemed dismissed.

4In the event Ms. Osborne provides the Union with the reasons for her absence, such reasons are to be provided to counsel for the LCBO who will then advise the GSB, no later than May 26, 2023, whether the Employer is satisfied with the reasons provided and agrees to the relisting of this matter or is not satisfied with the reasons and seeks to have the matter dismissed.
