DECISION

1The grievances filed on behalf of Ms. R. Sookdeosingh are scheduled to be heard on August 22, 2019. The Union has requested that the hearing be adjourned because Ms. Sookdeosingh is unable to attend the hearing. She is currently out of the country pursuing studies for a Ph.D. After hearing submissions from counsel on the Union’s adjournment request during a conference call, I advised counsel that I would grant the Union’s request for an adjournment in the circumstances.

2Accordingly, the hearing in this matter scheduled for August 22, 2019, is hereby adjourned. I discussed with counsel different ways for this matter to proceed. Counsel for the Union indicated that he will consult with Ms. Sookdeosingh and soon report back to Employer counsel and myself about how the Union wishes to proceed with the hearing of the grievances.
