Decision
1Further to the consent of the Parties, I issue the following Consent Decision:
It is acknowledged that the manager repeated comments that were made at OPSEU’s convention in 2018, which were previously brought to his attention by other staff.
The Employer acknowledges that the comments were inappropriate, and ought not to have been made in a workplace setting.
The Employer regrets any impact these comments may have had on the Grievor.
The Employer acknowledges that it is required to abide by Article 3.2 of the Collective Agreement and recognizes the right of any bargaining unit member to participate in the lawful activities of the union, without influence from management.
This decision is issued in accordance with Article 22.16 and has no precedential value.
