Decision
1This matter involves a number of grievances filed on behalf of Ms. H. Elder, a nurse at a correctional facility. One of the grievances challenges a three day suspension. The last hearing date was on May 4, 2018, and the next hearing date is scheduled to take place on May 29, 2018.
2During a conference call held on May 18, 2018, I reviewed with counsel the likelihood of the parties being able complete undertakings relating to the provision of particulars given on the last hearing day. It now appears that it was unrealistic to expect that the undertakings would be completed by May 29, 2018. Accordingly, over the Union’s objection, I determined that the hearing date of May 29, 2018, will be adjourned to ensure that the provision of particulars can occur in a timely fashion. An effort to schedule a replacement date before June 18, 2018, was unsuccessful.
3The hearing of this matter will continue as scheduled on June 18, 2018.
Dated at Toronto, Ontario this 22nd day of May 2018.
