Decision
1There are three grievances before me that have been consolidated. One is a Union grievance dated February 3, 2015. The others are the grievance of Ms. K. Benner, dated February 2, 2015, and the grievance of Ms. A. St. Aubin, dated February 5, 2015. All three grievances relate to the transcription of police interviews by Ms. Benner and Ms. St. Aubin, who performed these tasks until this work was assigned to a private transcription service in 2014.
2After hearing the comments of the parties at the hearing on Thursday, May 26, 2016, and in order to move these matters forward, I direct Ms. Benner and Ms. St. Aubin to complete and submit Conflict of Interest determination requests with regard to the work in question. This is without prejudice to the positions of the parties as to any issue in these matters, including whether there is a conflict of interest or its relevance should the parties not resolve these matters after receiving the Conflict of Interest determination. In the meantime, this matter is adjourned.
Dated at Toronto, Ontario this 31st day of May 2016
