HEARING
January 9, 2014
Decision
1As part of the systemic remedies ordered in this matter, an independent review of the Ministry’s investigation into the racist hate letters sent to the Toronto Jail (“the letters”) was conducted by Michael A. Davis.
2Mr. Davis issued his report. He made certain recommendations. I understand that one or more of those recommendations have not been implemented by the Ministry.
3I direct, as part of the Board’s ongoing supervision of the systemic remedies ordered in this matter, that a hearing be convened by the Registrar, in consultation with the parties, so that I may consider the Ministry’s explanation for the non-implementation of the Davis recommendations, and so that such other matters may be addressed in order to optimize the Ministry’s investigation of the letters.
Dated at Toronto, Ontario this 24th day of April 2014.
