DECISION
1During a conference call on August 5, 2009, counsel for the Union requested that the hearing date of August 10, 2009, be adjourned sine die. The Employer opposed the adjournment of this hearing date. Given the timing of this request, I advised counsel at the conclusion of the conference call that I might provide the parties with a bottom line decision, with reasons to follow.
2After considering the basis for the Union’s request and the submissions of counsel, I am satisfied that it is appropriate to grant the Union’s adjournment request. However, I am not prepared to adjourn the matter sine die. Accordingly, the hearing scheduled for Monday, August 10, 2009, is adjourned and this matter will continue on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. The reasons for this decision will follow shortly.
Dated at Toronto this 6th day of August 2009.
