CONFERENCE CALL
May 4, 2007.
Decision
The union requested an adjournment of the hearing scheduled for May 9, 2007 and also requested the matter not be scheduled for hearing before June 14, 2007. I directed union counsel to disclose the reasons for these requests. He indicated the grievor had secured employment elsewhere, will be participating in a training program on May 9 and will complete his probationary period on June 14. Based upon this disclosure, the employer consented to both requests on condition that it be absolved of any financial liability for the period from May 9 to the next hearing date. The union’s requests are granted on this condition which is appropriate in the circumstances.
Dated at Toronto this 8th day of May 2007
