HEARING
April 12, 2006.
Decision
Mediation went forward on April 12, 2006 for eight grievances filed by Wendy Goring, a CO at Metro West Detention Centre. At the end of the session the union requested additional disclosure of documents and further particulars regarding two of the grievances (OPSEU # 2005-0517-0036 [GSB# 2005-1617] and OPSEU # 2005-0517-0075 [GSB# 2005-3804]).
Having carefully considered the submissions of the parties, the employer is hereby ordered to produce the following documents and particulars:
For OPSEU # 2005-0517-0036 [GSB# 2005-1617]:
- The grievor’s exams written during the Probation and Parole training and Bell Cairn in the fall of 2003.
- Marking keys or model answers or other guidelines used to assess the above noted exams for all candidates.
- Any information or documentation relating to the grievor’s allegation that John Lilly, an instructor at Bell Cairn, said, “the instructors know you’re here on a won grievance and they don’t like it.”
For OPSEU # 2005-0517-0075 [GSB# 2005-3804] the employer is hereby ordered to provide particulars regarding the decision to delay the grievor’s request for a compassionate day on April 4, 2005.
