CONFERENCE CALL
November 23, 2005.
Decision
Ms. K. Attridge has filed three grievances, one of them a discharge grievance, which are scheduled to be heard commencing November 30, 2005. The Employer sought an adjournment of the November 30 hearing date because its advisor has been summonsed to attend a criminal proceeding on that day. The Union opposed the adjournment and a conference call was held on November 23, 2005 to entertain submissions relating to the Employer’s request. After considering the submissions, and for the reasons given during the conference call, I advised counsel that I would grant the Employer’s request to adjourn the November 30 hearing date in the circumstances. In addition to the five remaining hearing days scheduled previously, counsel agreed to add January 25, 2006, as another hearing day.
Dated at Toronto, this 25th day of November, 2005.
