Decision
The Parties referred this grievance to mediation/ arbitration in accordance with Article 22.16 of the Collective Agreement. The grievance involves the issuance of two concurrent unclassified Correctional Officer contracts. Specifically, the grievor claims that the employer refused to provide him with an additional unclassified contract at Rideau Correctional Centre while he was simultaneously employed at Brockville Jail.
The Parties agreed that I had jurisdiction to deal with this matter and they requested that I issue a without prejudice and without precedent decision with no reasons.
Having carefully reviewed the written submissions of the parties with respect to this matter, I find that there has been no violation of the collective agreement. Accordingly, the grievance is dismissed.
Dated at Toronto, this 4th day of September, 2003.
