THE PARTIES agree as follows:
The parties agree that a Notice of Hearing was sent to Denise Lafleur on August 9, 2004, alleging that she was guilty of professional misconduct for using inappropriate strength against [XX], a male student. A copy of the Notice of Hearing dated August 9, 2004 is included (exhibit A).
The parties also agree to inform the Discipline Committee of the Ontario College of Teachers of their recommendations with respect to the settlement of the case, including:
(a) The Ontario College of Teachers will withdraw the Notice of Hearing;
(b) Denise Lafleur will be allowed to resign her membership with the College and her certificate of qualification and registration will be cancelled;
(c) Denise Lafleur will commit to no longer teach in a public or private school. A copy of the member’s committement is attached (exhibit B);
(d) Subject to consent, the following note will be added to the public registry : “The member resigned her membership in the Ontario College of Teachers. At the time of resignation, disciplinary proceedings of professional misconduct were in progress. The member committed to no longer teach in a public or private school in the province of Ontario.”
- The parties believes that upon withdrawal of a Notice of Hearing, the College usually does not publish a summary of the proceedings in the College’s official publication, Professionally Speaking/Pour parler profession.
