REASONS FOR DECISION AND DECISION ON MOTION
Counsel for the College brought a motion to seek leave from the Committee to withdraw the allegations set out in the Notice of Hearing dated June 16, 2004.
Upon the consent of the parties, the Committee authorizes the College to accept the withdrawal of the allegations of professional misconduct against John Paul Lott set out in the Notice of Hearing.
Further, John Paul Lott resigned his membership in the Ontario College of Teachers on May 16, 2005 and, as a result, his certificate of qualification and registration is cancelled as of that date.
John Paul Lott has agreed that he will not seek reinstatement of his certificate of qualification and registration.
The Committee concludes that the resignation of the Member and the consequent cancellation of his certificate of qualification and registration, in these circumstances, is reasonable and serves to protect the public interest.
