REASONS FOR DECISIONS AND ORDERS
In the matter of Ontario College of Teachers Act, 1996, and the Regulation (Ontario Regulation 437/97) thereunder:
And in the matter of discipline proceedings against Mr. Buryl LeRoy Wilson.
The Discipline Committee held a hearing on January 18, 1999,

Mr. Thomas Forbes, Q.C. and Mr. Chris Sach-Anderson, Counsel for the Prosecution
Mr. Samuel Willoughby, Defense Counsel. Mr. Wilson was present for the hearing.
The Discipline Panel heard legal arguments from Mr. Forbes, Q.C., Counsel for the Prosecution and Mr. Willoughby, Counsel for the Defense, to discontinue the proceedings against Mr. Buryl LeRoy Wilson.
The Panel consulted with the Honourable Patrick Galligan, Independent Counsel to the Panel, regarding the legal obligations and responsibilities of the Committee with regard to this particular case. Upon consent of both Counsel and by agreement, the Panel agreed to discontinue the proceedings, provided:
(1) Mr. Wilson will confirm that he was permitted to resign and that his Certificate of Qualification and Registration was cancelled in the course of discipline proceedings against him for professional misconduct;
(2) Mr. Wilson will agree and consent to there being placed upon the public register of the College the language in Paragraph 1 above;
(3) Upon any inquiry being made of the College of the nature of the proceedings before the Discipline Committee for professional misconduct, the College may make reference to and supply copies if requested of the attached Further Amended Notice of Hearing;
(4) Mr. Wilson will agree and consent to there being published in the official publication of the College entitled “Professionally Speaking” the contents of this letter and of the attached Further Amended Notice of Hearing , and that his appeal of his convictions has been dismissed by the Ontario Court of Appeal.
An original, signed copy of Mr. Wilson’s statement of acceptance and signature, dated January 18, 1999, was provided to College Counsel.
