Background:
1Staff Sergeant Paul Bridgeman appealed a Decision dated September 18, 2013 whereby he was found guilty of discreditable conduct and neglect of duty arising from events occurring between April and May 2010. He also appealed the Penalty Decision dated January 27, 2014 whereby he was demoted to the rank of Sergeant for eighteen months.
2The hearing of the Appeal was scheduled for September 22, 2015. However, before that date, Staff Sergeant Bridgeman notified the Commission and the other parties that he retired from the Windsor Police Force effective July 31, 2015.
Order:
Further to the Case Conference held on September 22, 2015;
And on the consent of all parties;
The Commission orders that:
3This appeal is dismissed for want of jurisdiction of the Commission based on the retirement of the Appellant from the Respondent Police Service.
