DECISION OF THE TRIBUNAL
This appeal was heard by the Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Appeal Tribunal (the “Tribunal”) on May 24, 2012, in the Tribunal Boardroom, Guelph, Ontario. The appellant, Violet Osztrovics (“Violet”), appealed the decision of The Ontario Flue-Cured Tobacco Growers’ Marketing Board denying her 2012 application for licence eligibility to produce tobacco.
As set out in the notice of appeal, Violet is seeking a decision from the Tribunal prior to May 31, 2012, so that, if the appeal is allowed, she can plant tobacco in time for the 2012 crop year. At the hearing, Violet’s counsel indicated that the 2012 tobacco crop needs to be planted by late May or early June 2012 at the latest. Given this timing, the Tribunal has decided to release its decision without reasons. Full written reasons for the decision will be released to the parties as soon as they become available.
Order of the Tribunal
For reasons to follow, the Tribunal orders that the appeal is hereby dismissed.
Dated at Hamilton, Ontario, this 28th day of May, 2012.
