The plaintiffs brought a motion under Rule 7.08 of the Rules of Civil Procedure for approval of a minor's settlement following a fatal motor vehicle accident.
The court was also asked to approve the contingency fee agreement.
The court found that the motion record lacked sufficient information, such as dockets or a description of the work performed, to assess the reasonableness of the legal fees.
The motion was adjourned to allow counsel to address these evidentiary deficiencies.
