The appellant appealed his convictions for dangerous driving and failing to remain at the scene of an accident, as well as his sentence of five and a half years' custody.
He argued the trial judge failed to give a balanced jury charge regarding a demonstration video and the identity of the driver.
The Court of Appeal dismissed the conviction appeal, finding the jury charge was balanced and properly instructed the jury on reasonable doubt.
The sentence appeal was also dismissed, as the lengthy sentence was justified by the appellant's extensive record of 77 prior convictions, including serious driving offences and lifetime driving prohibitions.
