HUMAN RIGHTS TRIBUNAL OF ONTARIO
B E T W E E N:
Michael Smith Applicant
-and-
University Health Network Toronto Rehab Respondent
DECISION
Adjudicator: Brian Cook Date: June 21, 2016 Citation: 2016 HRTO 838 Indexed as: Smith v. University Health Network Toronto Rehab
1This Application alleges discrimination with respect to employment.
2When the Tribunal received the Application, it was not clear that the allegations of unfair treatment were related to the applicant's rights under the Human Rights Code. The Application did not identify an area of alleged discrimination and the information provided by the applicant about his difficulties at work did not seem tied to any ground under the Code.
3On May 9, 2016, the Tribunal Registrar wrote to the applicant and asked him to provide further information about how his allegations relate to his rights under the Code. The applicant was directed to provide this information by June 8, 2016. He was advised that if he did not do so, the Application might be dismissed as abandoned.
4The applicant has not provided the information requested or otherwise communicated with the Tribunal. In the circumstances, it appears that the applicant has abandoned the Application and it is dismissed on that basis.
Dated at Toronto, this 21st day of June, 2016.
