DECISION
Adjudicator: Brian Cook
Indexed as: Anderson v. St. George’s Golf and Country Club
1This Application alleges discrimination with respect to employment contrary to the Human Rights Code, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.19, as amended (the “Code”). When the Tribunal received the Application, it was not clear how the facts alleged in the Application involved the applicant's Code-protected rights, and whether the Tribunal has any jurisdiction or power to deal with the allegations.
2The Tribunal Registrar sent a letter to the applicant on March 29, 2016, directing the applicant to provide more information about the allegations and how they were connected to the applicant’s Code-protected rights. The applicant was directed to send a response by April 28, 2016. He was advised that if he did not send a response by April 28, 2016, the Application might be dismissed as abandoned.
3The applicant did not respond by April 28, 2016. On May 26, 2016, the Registrar sent an email to the applicant, with a copy of the March 29, 2016 letter attached. The applicant was advised that the Tribunal would extend the deadline for sending the response to June 16, 2016.
4The applicant has not sent a response to the Registrar’s request for information, or otherwise communicated with the Tribunal. In the circumstances, it appears that the applicant has abandoned the Application and it is dismissed on that basis.
Dated at Toronto, this 21st day of June, 2016.
