HUMAN RIGHTS TRIBUNAL OF ONTARIO
B E T W E E N:
Talal Al-Mdallal Applicant
-and-
The Athletic Club Respondent
DECISION
Adjudicator: Alison Renton
Indexed as: Al-Mdallal v. The Athletic Club
1This Application alleges discrimination with respect to employment because of citizenship contrary to the Human Rights Code, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.19, as amended (the “Code”). The applicant worked for the respondent from March 22 to May 2, 2012, when, it appears, he was terminated. The Application has not been sent to the respondent for Response.
2By letter dated April 28, 2016, the Tribunal issued a Notice of Intent to Dismiss (“NOID”) to the applicant on the basis that his Application was filed more than a year after the last incident to which the Application relates and because it appeared to have no connection to the Code. The Tribunal directed the applicant to file submissions addressing these issues by May 30, 2016, failing which his Application may be dismissed as abandoned.
3The applicant has not filed submissions with the Tribunal or otherwise communicated with the Tribunal.
4Accordingly, his Application is dismissed as abandoned.
Dated at Toronto, this 21st day of June, 2016.
