1The complaint alleged discrimination because of disability contrary to the Human Rights Code, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.19, as amended (the "Code"), in the special diet allowance provided under Ontario's social assistance system. The complainant is now deceased. By letter dated January 22, 2015, the Tribunal wrote to an individual who was identified as the complainant's next of kin. In the letter, the Tribunal advised that it required confirmation of who is authorized to act on behalf of the estate and also to confirm the estate's intention's in regards to the complainant's complaint with the Tribunal. In the letter, the Tribunal directed the estate trustee or other representative to respond by February 13, 2015 or the complaint might be dismissed as abandoned. Upon request, this deadline was extended to May 13, 2015.
2The Tribunal has not received any confirmation of who is authorized to act on behalf of the estate or any confirmation of the estate's intentions with respect to the complaint.
ORDER
3In these circumstances, the complaint is dismissed as abandoned.
