WRITTEN SUBMISSIONS
Loblaw Companies Limited, Intervenor
John O’Reilly, Counsel
1This Application alleges discrimination with respect to employment contrary to the Human Rights Code, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.19, as amended (the “Code”).
2This Interim Decision addresses Loblaw Companies Limited’s Request to intervene. The parties were directed to respond by June 25, 2014, with respect to their position on the Request to intervene. No submissions have been received and therefore the Request is unopposed.
3Having reviewed this matter I find that Loblaws’ Request to intervene should be granted because it has a significant interest in this proceeding. Mr. Singh is an employee of Loblaw and the Application makes allegations against him which arose during the course of his employment. Further, the Application seeks remedies which may have an impact to Loblaw.
Order
4The Tribunal orders:
a. Loblaw Companies Limited’s Request to intervene is granted; and
b. The style of cause shall be immediately amended to reflect this change.
5I am not seized.
Dated at Toronto, this 3rd day of July, 2014.
