DECISION
Adjudicator: Dawn J. Kershaw
Date: May 29, 2014
Citation: 2014 HRTO 765
Indexed as: Makos v. FEDSEC Corporation
Introduction
1This Application alleges reprisal contrary to the Human Rights Code, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.19, as amended (the "Code").
2On December 6, 2013 the Tribunal issued a Case Assessment Direction advising the parties that a Summary Hearing would be scheduled in this matter.
3A Notice of Summary Hearing ("the Notice") dated January 14, 2014 was delivered to the parties by the Tribunal advising that the Summary Hearing would take place by teleconference call on May 28, 2014.
4The Notice advised the applicant that if he did not attend the Summary Hearing, his Application could be dismissed as abandoned.
5The applicant did not attend the scheduled Summary Hearing on May 28, 2014 and did not communicate with the Tribunal to explain the failure to attend. In the circumstances I find the applicant has abandoned his Application and it is dismissed.
Dated at Toronto, this 29th day of May, 2014.
