INTERIM DECISION
Adjudicator: Dawn J. Kershaw
Indexed as: Zakharia v. London Health Sciences Centre
1The applicant requests that the Summary Hearing scheduled for June 3, 2014 be delayed because the applicant wishes to ask the Ontario Human Rights Commission to intervene in these Applications because they now, apparently as a result of my Case Assessment Direction (“CAD”) dated April 16, 2014, raise matters of public interest.
2A CAD provides procedural direction and is not a decision (see Dioba v. Ontario (Government Services), 2009 HRTO 651 at para. 2). The applicant’s suggestion that any decision has been made with respect to the Applications that are the subject of the Summary Hearing is incorrect.
3The issues in the Applications therefore have not changed since the Applications were filed.
4The request to delay the proceedings is denied.
Dated at Toronto, this 20th day of May, 2014.
