1This Application alleges discrimination with respect to services and contracts because of disability contrary to the Human Rights Code, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.19, as amended (the "Code"). The applicant alleges that he has a gambling dependency and maintains that the manner in which the respondents offer their services as securities brokers discriminates insofar as it encourages him to make trades with money that he does not have.

2It was filed by the applicant under the name Michael Mitchell. The applicant's birth certificate shows that Michael is his first name and John is his middle name. He has brought a request to change the style of cause and to use his middle name rather than his first name. The reason for this request is that he does not want any prospective employer to know that he is engaged in litigation, as he believes this will hurt his chances of being employed.

3The applicant's request is not opposed by either respondent.

4I am satisfied that the applicant's legal middle name is John and am of the view that the requested amendment to the style of cause is consistent with the requirements of Rule 1.16(a) of the Tribunal's Rules of Procedure.

5The applicant's request is granted and the style of cause is amended to reflect the applicant's name as: John Mitchell.
