WRITTEN SUBMISSIONS
Judith Butcher, Applicant
Christopher Alkenbrack, Representative
1A summary hearing of this Application is scheduled by teleconference for March 6, 2013.
2On March 4, 2013 the applicant submitted an adjournment request on the ground that her representative has a medical condition that prevents his participation in the teleconference. The applicant requests that the hearing be rescheduled in a month. The respondent does not oppose the granting of an adjournment.
3The Tribunal’s Practice Direction on Scheduling of Hearings and Mediations, Rescheduling Requests and Requests for Adjournments specifies that adjournments are only granted in exceptional circumstances. The illness of a party or their representative is recognised in the Practice Direction as an exceptional circumstance.
4I am satisfied that the applicant has demonstrated that there are exceptional circumstances which justify adjourning the scheduled teleconference.
order
